QUALITY MONITORING MANAGER VACANCY

A position has become available within our Quality Monitoring Team and we are looking to recruit an experienced person with experience of auditing to join our small team.

The main role within the department is to visit all homes within our companies across Nottinghamshire, Doncaster, Staffordshire and Leicester, undertake audits on their compliance with legislation, produce written reports for the Managing Director and registered manager following these visits in a timely manner, co-ordinate and follow up action plans and quality questionnaires. This role is varied and the holder must have extensive knowledge of legislation appertaining to the running of a care business and own transportation is a necessity. There are also additional responsibilities delegated by the Managing Director for example, investigations, disciplinary hearings, appeals and supervisions and training all of which are dependent on the needs of the business.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 09.00am – 5.30pm with an hour for lunch. Although at times additional hours may be required to meet the needs of the business. The post holder may also be expected to act in the absence of registered managers on occasions.

Welcome to the Wycar Leys email Newsletter

I wish to introduce you to our new e-newsletter.

Whilst the name Wycar Leys has become synonymous with caring for adults with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours, many do not know much more about us. Did you know, for example, that the company now has 12 homes spread across Leicestershire, Staffordshire and South Yorkshire as well as Nottinghamshire? We also offer more specialist services, such as caring for younger adults in need of transition to a full adult service and a Prader-Willi home. The purpose of our newsletter is therefore two-fold: (i) to introduce you to some of our homes and share the experiences of service users living within a Wycar Leys environment and (ii) to enhance the service we offer professionals like you by improving our communication.

Let me introduce you to Church View.

Church View is located in the Stoneygate area of Leicester. We opened the home last year for Service Users with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours but also as a step-down facility for some of the more challenging Service Users of the past who are now making progress and starting to lead a slightly more independent lifestyle. The home lies within a pleasant residential area of Leicester but is conveniently located only 30 minutes’ walk away from the city centre.Stoneygate has good local amenities. There is a regular bus service at the end of the road and the home has its own people carrier. The property was a former care home for 20 elderly residents.

We deliberately created a high quality and spacious environment for eight Service Users, each bedroom having a full shower room en suite. As well as two lounges and a dining room, those living here have the benefit of a conservatory which leads onto a pleasant walled garden.
As with all our homes, the Service Users have a considerable say in the décor of the home and especially their bedroom. Seb has kindly allowed us to publish a photograph of his room. Surprise, surprise: he supports Leicester City!

I became Managing Director of Wycar Leys Limited and its associated companies earlier this year, having joined the company 11 years ago. Please contact me directly if you have any friends or colleagues who would like to know more about our services. Furthermore, should you or a colleague have a service user in need of care then, again, please contact me directly. Whenever possible I like to undertake assessments with the Home Manager concerned to ensure the most compatible placement within our group of homes.Thank you for taking the time to read this: I hope we can be of help to you in these challenging times.
Kind Regards

Joy Talbot R.N.M.H
Managing Director
