Hollybrook House is a large three storey Victorian property which provides spacious living accommodation for six people with a mild to moderate learning disability and complex needs. The property retains many of its original features and lies on the outskirts of Doncaster Town centre on a quiet tree-lined avenue, well situated for local community amenities and attractions.
All bedrooms have en suite facilities with either bath or shower and Service Users can choose their decoration. There is a large kitchen, spacious dining room, utility room, small upstairs lounge as well as large downstairs lounge, large front entrance hall with stained glass window and a private garden with decking.
The home is about ten minutes’ walk from the town centre and the Frenchgate Centre, which includes shops, bars, nightclubs, food outlets and other attractions. Also within walking distance or a short bus ride (we also have our own people carrier) are the Dome Leisure Complex, Doncaster Racecourse, the Lakeside shopping complex, bowling alley and multiplex cinema, all of which makes Hollybrook House a fantastic choice for anyone who wishes to aspire to greater things, broaden their horizons and reach a high sense of independence in their lives.
Our Commitment
Our commitment is to promote the rights, choices, independence and inclusion of adults who have learning disabilities and complex needs. At Hollybrook House we have created a home with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere where people can be supported to reach their full potential in all aspects of their daily lives, whilst being offered the security of structure and routine. It is our ultimate aim for each individual to develop the skills required to live as independently as possible, which may lead to the person moving into their own flat or shared house with their own tenancy agreement.
Our Care Team
All employees undergo a robust recruitment process and our commitment to ongoing training and development aims to provide an experienced, well balanced care team dedicated to high quality care. All members of the care team are carefully selected for their wide variety of skills, knowledge and experiences both in life and in their chosen career. Each staff member is committed to working in a proactive manner and knows they are supported in every way by the company, just as they support the Service Users. Each member of staff is trained to a high level and all will strive to achieve NVQ Level II as a minimum.
Sally Hamilton, the Home Manager, has been with the company since January 2002.
Activities
We access a range of activities in the local community including bowling, swimming, cinema, pub, clubs, football, cricket, shopping, snooker, pool, work placements, college, local parks, bike riding and watching motocross.
In-house activities include cooking, cleaning, laundry, gardening, computers and table top games.
If a Service User wants to try a specific activity, they are facilitated whenever possible.
