The Coach House is a small, two bedroom, detached property just ten minutes’ walk from the historic town of Burton-on-Trent.

The Coach House provides accommodation for two people who have a learning disability, challenging behaviours and complex needs. It has a lounge with ample seating, kitchen diner and two bedrooms, both with en suite shower rooms. The home sits within the grounds of neighbouring Trent View but is run independently of it.

The Coach House provides an environment where Service Users are listened to, respected and their rights acknowledged. Each Service User is supported to make their own decisions about the life they want to live and what they would like to achieve. Our staff provide support and advice to improve independent living skills as well as offering opportunities to gain new skills and abilities.

The home has good relationships with the local Burton College, where they offer a wide range of learning opportunities and personal development. We access local facilities such as the leisure centre, bowling, bingo, cinema, horse riding, visiting football matches, as well as attending discos and clubs.

Our staff team are highly motivated and dedicated to supporting people to help them reach their full potential. All care staff are trained to NVQ Level II or III and also receive specific training in supporting people with the sort of needs and challenges presented by our Service Users.

Mr Jim Steeples is the Home Manager and has been with Wycar Leys since 2004. Jim has been working in the field of learning disabilities for over ten years, starting his career as a Residential Social Worker. Jim is committed to helping and supporting all Service Users to achieve their full potential, as well as ensuring The Coach House provides a homely environment for both its residents.
